Charlie Engman
Bio

Charlie Engman (b. 1987, Chicago) is an American artist and photographer. Engman received a BA First Class in Japanese and Korean studies from the University of Oxford in 2009, where he also studied at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art. There he began working as a commercial photographer and exhibiting his artwork, most notably at The Lisson Gallery in 2009 with the exhibition Boule to Braid curated by Richard Wentworth. Upon graduating, Engman returned to the U.S. where he began integrating his commercial, fashion, and art practices. Engman’s work has been exhibited in venues ranging from L.A.’s Annenberg Space for Photography to Amsterdam’s FOAM Gallery, and appears in the commercial and editorial pages of publications around the world. Engman has a fashion and retail client roster including Hermes, adidas, LaCoste, Shiseido, Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Galeries LaFayette, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
